Failure to yield right-of-way to an emergency vehicle is not a citation that you want to receive. Nor do you want to be responsible for delaying that vehicles response time to a person in need.
When emergency lights are active on any marked vehicle it has the right-of-way. This requires drivers to slow down and clear the lane of travel that the emergency vehicle is traveling in.
If the vehicle is blocking an intersection you remain at your respected position till otherwise directed by emergence personal. If the vehicle is attempting to enter the roadway you must yield to that vehicle. A delay in response time could be time spent saving a life.
