100 Club of Central Texas now includes Milam County

The 100 Club of Central Texas officially announced the inclusion of Milam County’s First Responders into its coverage area on June 8.

Following Deputy Ferguson’s critical incident last year, Sheriff Mike Clore and First Assistant District Attorney Brian Price worked with the 100 Club of Central Texas to have Milam County first responders become eligible for immediate financial and emotional assistance to first responders and their families when there has been a line of duty death or critical injury.

The 100 Club of Central Texas serves Emergency Communications Operators, Corrections Officers, Emergency Medical Technicians/Paramedics, Firefighters, and Law Enforcement Officers who have been killed or critically injured in the line of duty.

The 100 Club provided direct assistance to Deputy Sam Ferguson IV and Sergeant Joshua Clouse’s Family following their critical incidents over the last seven months.

Clore said, “we would like to thank the initial donors who provided donations to help Milam County get started. Those donors are, but not limited to: Riot donated $10,000, Milam County District Attorney Office donated $5,000, Drayton McLane donated $1,000, Menger Public Safety Training donated $1,000, Congressman Pete Sessions donated $500, Representative Stan Gerdes donated $500, Rockdale Rotary donated $250, and BJ Johnson donated $100.
