DEPUTIES RESPOND TO SHOTS FIRED CALL
Milam County deputies assisted another agency for reports of shots fired in Cameron this morning.
Just before noon on Wednesday, Aug. 7, the Milam County Sheriff’s Office went to the 1500 block of Jackson in Cameron in reference to a shots fired call by Cameron Police.
Deputies raced to the scene and helped secure it, learning a male subject was shot in the hand. Investigators learned a Cameron Police officer discharged his weapon at the subject, striking him. Deputies have secured the scene and requested Texas Rangers to investigate the matter.
Cameron Yoe High School was having convocation at the time and was placed on a soft lock down but have since cleared. At this time, Sheriff Mike Clore said there is no danger to the public.
