Early voting starts Monday for November election
Early voting for the November election begins on Monday, Oct. 21.
There are no contested local races in the November election, but national races for President and Senate should bring people to the polls across the county.
The biggest election on the ticket will be for President and Vice President. Democratic nominee Kamala Harris will face off against Republican nominee Donald J. Trump. Libertarian Chase Oliver and Green Party candidate Jill Stein are also on the ballot.
In the race for Texas Senator, incumbent Ted Cruz (R) will face off against Colin Allred (D) and Ted Brown (L).
Incumbent District 17 U.S. Representative Pete Sessions (R) will also face Mark Lorenzen (D).
Incumbent District 17 State Representative Stan Gerdes (R) will face off against Desiree Venable (D) for that spot in the Texas House.
There are several other statewide races including Railroad Commissioner and several judge positions, as well as a race for State Board of Education, District 10.
Early voting will begin on Oct. 21 and run through Nov. 1 in Milam County.
Early voting locations across the county are: Milam County Annex, 806 N. Crockett in Cameron; George Hill Patterson Center, 609 Mills Street in Rockdale; Buckholts Community Center, 110 W. Main Street in Buckholts; and Thorndale VFW, 304 E. Moerbe in Thorndale.
Early voting at the County Annex will be from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Oct. 21 and 22; 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Oct. 23; 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Oct. 24 and 25; 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Oct. 26; 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Oct. 27; and 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Oct. 28 through Nov. 1.
Early voting at all other locations in the county will run from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Oct. 21 and 22; 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Oct. 23; 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Oct. 24 and 25; 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Oct. 26; 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Oct. 28 and 29; 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Oct. 30; and 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Oct. 31 and Nov. 1.
