Eclipse Over Texas

The total solar eclipse that happened on April 8 was a large-scale natural phenomenon that Texans have not seen since 2017. Something so rare and intriguing drew several visitors to Cameron to enjoy the event with Milam County residents. The downtown square, Lions Centennial Park and other places all over town were full of people enjoying the eclipse. Above left, Cameron saw totality for about 45 seconds on Monday. Bottom left and top right, visitors and residents alike enjoyed the event in the downtown square. Above, astronomer Abigail Hayes was watching the eclipse at Lions Centennial Park with her telescope and allowed everyone to join in on the event by looking through her telescope.
