Legacy Nursing to honor cancer survivors

Legacy Nursing Facility will be doing a ceremony in August that will honor those that they know, either residents, staff or family members that have cancer or have overcome cancer.  

“We are asking for you to sponsor a bag in honor or memory of someone that has suffered from this horrible disease that most likely affects everyone, somehow,” Sissy Wallace with Legacy Nursing said.  

For sponsorship in honor of a specific person you can donate $10 per bag.  

“We will have residents decorate these bags, or you can,” Wallace said.  

On Aug. 21 there will have an illuminating ceremony at 6:30 p.m.  Some of the bags will be taken to Washington and will be used for another ceremony in Washington, D.C., in September.  These bags will be taken by Karen Duncan, Volunteer of American Cancer Society.
