Trunk or Treat set for downtown on Halloween

The Cameron Chamber of Commerce will host its 7th Annual Trunk or Treat on Oct. 31 on the downtown square at First and Central.

The event is from 5-7 p.m. Over 27 businesses and organizations have signed up to deck out the downtown square in Halloween style. They will be handing out candy and goodies to the children in our community. Chamber member businesses may sign up for a spot in the square. Deadline is Oct. 27 at noon.

This is a walk-up event. Please enter the event at the corner of First and Central and exit at Main and Central.

The event will be in the inside parking lot of the square, same as last year.  We have expanded to both sides of the inside parking this year.  Please exercise caution when driving and parking downtown. Houston Street will be blocked from Central to Main for safety.

“The Chamber would like to thank our Trunk or Treat Sponsor Haber Wealth Management,” Chamber Director Melanie Reed siad. “We appreciate your continued support in these great community events. We appreciate all the Chamber members who turn out and decorate the square for Halloween! It is a wonderful show of community support. The Cameron Volunteer Fire Department and Cameron Police Department will be on sight handing out candy. We appreciate their support.”

In addition, Milam County Crime Stoppers will be having a full haunted house on Saturday, Oct. 27 and 28, as well as a “Lights On” soft scare on Halloween Day. A soft scare entails of haunted house with lights on and very few monsters (if any) for scaring.  They plan on being open from 5-8 p.m. on Halloween night.

On Saturday, Oct 28, Central Ave Bistro will have a Halloween Contest and Spooky Food Night starting at 5 p.m.

Don’t forget to sign up for the Costume Contest on the Chamber website www.cameron-tx.com or call (254) 697-4979 for details.
