86th Annual Cameron Chamber Banquet planned for Feb. 18
The Cameron Chamber of Commerce’s 86th Annual Banquet is set for Feb. 18.
This year’s keynote speaker will be Sarah O’Brien – Change Agent. Milam County Judge Steve Young will be opening speaker.
O’Brien is an award-winning passionate public servant and community champion with over 15 years local government and community development experience. Known as a creator of experiences, collaborator of ideas, and a coordinator of chaos. She is focused on cultivating cross-sector collaboration and applying collective impact principles to all aspects of city building. Her firm, Collaborative Development Collective, LLC, works in multiple disciplines for communities and small businesses of all shapes and sizes through public sector collaborations and private sector partnerships.
She is proudest of the people and places she has engaged, empowered, and inspired throughout her life. An expert generalist, she regularly speaks at the state, national, and international level. She is a two-time past president of the Texas Downtown Association and current board member. She is also a proud member of TICCO, Engaging Local Government Leaders, and the Smithville Historic Design Standards Commission.
There will be a wine and cheese reception hosted by Citizens National Bank of Cameron beginning at 6 p.m. Dinner begins at 6:30 p.m.
The meal will be 44 Farms Ribeye Steaks with all the trimmings. Tickets are $35 with limited seating.
Sponsorships and tables are available for purchase including: Platinum Sponsors who will receive six tickets at a reserved table for 10 at the front with your company logo as well as your company logo on the Chamber’s website and promotion in the banquet publications; Gold Sponsors who will receive four dinner tickets at a reserved front table with your company logo on the sign, promotion on the Chamber’s website and promotion on banquet publications; and table sponsors who will receive 10 dinner tickets with a reserved company table sign. The Chamber is also seeking community input on candidates for several of the annual awards presented at the Chamber of Commerce Banquet.
The citizens of Cameron are asked to submit your ideas on candidates for the following awards: Volunteer of the Year; Organization of the Year; and Citizen of the Year.
The criteria for each award is listed below:
Volunteer of the Year: This award is given to an individual who had demonstrated involvement and enthusiasm by giving time and service to a variety of events in support of the community.
Organization of the Year: This award is given to an organization that demonstrated involvement and enthusiasm by giving time and service to a variety of events in support of the community.
Citizen of the Year: This award is given to an individual who has made significant civic contributions to the development and quality of life of this community through his or her personal effort. Their actions, by their very nature, serve as a model to those presently involved in community affairs and inspire others to bring about a better business climate and quality of life Cameron.
Criteria for this award:
- Must have his or her principal place of employment in Cameron.
- Must presently reside in the community, having lived here for a minimum of five years.
- Must have exercised leadership in a number and variety of organizations and community activities over multiple years.
- Must be of high moral character.
- Must have a record of stability.
Persons excluded from consideration: Current Chamber Board Member and Chamber staff.
