American Legion Honors

On Aug. 6, the American Legion Post 9 met for their monthly meeting at the Edwin Hardy Post building at Ledbetter Park. Cyndi Miller, District II Commander presented Jim McKimmey, Post 9 Commander, with multiple State and National awards. Among the awards included marking the Post All-Time high in Membership, Meeting 100 percent of the Membership Goal, and the American Legion Family award for service to communities’ families. All veterans and veteran’s spouses are eligible to become members.  Dues are only $40. Membership questions can be directed to (254)307-1423 or visit www.Legion.org/join. Meetings are held at the post (203 Park Ave. Cameron, in Ledbetter Park) on the second Tuesday of each month at 7 p.m., a meal is shared prior beginning at 6 p.m. Next meeting is Tuesday Sept. 9.
