SPJST FUNDRAISER

Buckholts SPJST Hall Lodge #15 Fundraiser will be on Sunday, March 9, from 11 a.m. until sold out. Pork Chops, Gravy, Mashed Potatoes, Corn, Roll, Dessert and Tea. Cost is $15 a Plate, Pick Up or Dine In, Cash Check or Card. All Proceeds will go towards the Buckholts SPJST Hall Lodge #15.

 

MASTER NATURALISTS MEETING

The El Camino Real Chapter of Texas Master Naturalists will hold its monthly meeting on Thursday, March 13.  The program will begin at 6 p.m. at the All Saints’ Episcopal Church Meeting Room, 200 N. Travis, in Cameron.  The public is invited to attend.

 

LOCKLIN CEMETERY ASSOCIATION

The semi-annual meeting of the Locklin Cemetery Association will be held on Saturday, March 15, at 10 a.m. in the San Gabriel Christian Church, San Gabriel. Everyone is welcome.

 

BIBLE STUDY

Nondenominational Bible talks will be held at EBCO in Cameron, 804 E First Street, on Sundays at 4 p.m. on March 2, 9, 16, 23, and 30. A quiet hour to learn more about Jesus with M. Reece, J. Lester and B. Henderson. Call (712) 660-2026 for information.

 

WESTPHALIA KC FISH FRY

Westphalia Knights of Columbus Council #13902 will sponsor a drive-thru Shrimp & Fish Fry every Friday evening beginning March 7 through April 11. Plates will be “to go only” starting at 3:30-7:15 p.m. (or until sold out).  Plates will consist of fried shrimp, fried fish, beans,  slaw and french fries.  Cost will be $15 per plate.  Plates can be picked up in a drive-thru lane behind the Westphalia Parish Hall, 3000 State Highway 320, Westphalia. Proceeds support the KC’s charity goals for the year.

 

ALCOA RETIREES

The next meeting of the Rockdale ALCOA Retirees will be: Thursday, March 13. The meeting will be held at the Thorndale Veteran’s Memorial Hall ( formally known as the VFW Hall ). Doors open at 5 P.M. A business meeting will begin at 5:45. A fried fish meal will be $15. Annual dues of $10 will be collected at this meeting. Dessert group M - Z. CHURCH REVIVAL

Church revival Friday, March 14, through Sunday, March 16, at Jones Prairie Baptist Church 4076 County Rd. 270 Cameron, TX 76520. Preaching will be at 6 p.m. each night for more information. Call (737) 990-1611.

 

ST. PATRICK’S DAY

VFW Post 2010 will host a St. Patrick’s Day Celebration on March 18 from 5 p.m. to 1 a.m. Celebrate St. Patty’s and spring at your local Post! Will provide DJ, music, and some eats. Feel free to bring a snack to share.

 

ROCKDALE FAIR SCHOLARSHIP

For the past 10 years, the RFA has gracely awarded over $10,000 annually in scholarship money to our local high school seniors to further their education. The 2024-2025 Rockdale Fair Association scholarship is available to Milam county high seniors, who have shown project(s) and have met eligibility requirements, are encouraged to apply. CAMERON TRAIN SHOW

Calling all model railroaders. Cameron Train Show is set for April 5 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at The Venue in Cameron, 101 E. Main Street. Vendors with new and used model train equipment will be on hand along with The Austin Lego Trains, The San Antonio Heritage Museum’s G Scale, Emmit Kelley Circus Train and the Brazos Valley Model Railroad Club HO Scale Modular Trains from Bryan/College Station. GRIEF SHARE

Grief Recovery Support Group is held at 2:30 p.m. in the Church Annex at Holy Ground Baptist Church, 802 S. College in Cameron. This is a 13 week series until the end of April.

 

OLD TOWN CAMERON

The Milam County Railroad Museum is open Thursday through Saturday from 10 until 3.  We are looking for members to our Milam County Railroad Museum Association. The Associations purpose is to support the activities and future of the Railroad Museum.  Membership is $25.  Contact Jamie Larson at jlarson@milamcounty.net or drop by the museum to pick up a registration card.

 

BLESSINGS FROM GOD FOOD PANTRY

Blessings From God Food Pantry distributes food every second and fourth Tuesday from 8-10   a.m. In case of emergency, call (254) 455-0380.

 

PANCAKE SUPPER

Free Pancake Supper at First Methodist Church Fellowship Hall every third Wednesday of the month from 5:30-7 p.m. Everybody is welcome. Come share the food and God’s love.

 

FOOD BANK

The Central Texas Food Bank distributes food at The Yards of Cameron every third Wednesday of the month.

 

VFW POST 2010

VFW Post 2010, 1106 West 22nd Street, is open to the public weekends and weekdays, except Wednesday and Thursday. Eligible veterans meet the second Monday each month at 7:30 p.m. Call (254) 697-2078 for information.

 

MILAM COUNTY MUSEUM

The Milam County Museum winter hours are Thursday through Saturday 10 am to 3 pm. The Old Jail Museum is open on Saturday from 10 am to 3 pm and by appointment only Thursday and Friday. Call (254) 637-8963
