County Clerk's office to close due to virus

Milam County Judge Steve Young has announced the Milam County Clerk's Office will close at noon today (July 9) due to increasing cases of COVID-19.

Young indicated that staff members are under quarantine and the office will remain closed until the middle of next week.

He said the county will go forward with its court docket tomorrow and the closing will not effect the election. All early voting and election day voting will remain as planned.

County Clerk Jodi Morgan said if you do have something to bring to the office or need to file something, the drop box is available at the front of the office and it will be processed within 72 hours.

"Please be patient with us, we are working as best we can," Morgan said.
