County Commissioners extend burn ban

Milam County Commissioners approved continuing the burn ban among other topics on Monday.

The burn ban went into effect as of last Friday but needed formal approval from the court. Commissioners also approved the appointment of Kyle Barrett to the Milam County Historical Commission along with a resolution to donate a double-axle, military surplus small animal transport trailer to Milam Touch of Love. 

A subdivision was approved, as was an indigent defense grant agreement. 

Commissioners also set reinvestment zone hearings for Nov. 14 for Camino Santiago Solar and Adelite Battery Storage. The solar farm hearing passed by a 2-1 vote with Commissioner Henry Hubnik against while the storage project passed unanimously. 

In other business the court also: approved road use agreements and interlocal agreements with Brazos Paving and the City of Rockdale.
