COVID REPORT: County records 75th death due to virus
From Milam County Judge Steve Young:
Today we report our 75th Milam County COVID-19 related death. We had three deaths last week and three the week before. A vaccination will prevent one from becoming seriously ill or dying from the virus. Please encourage vaccinations and be safe.
We have seven new cases to report and 12 cases were discharged today, leaving 24 confirmed, active cases of the virus in the County.
We had two new PCR cases, two discharged cases and one person was hospitalized.
Current Numbers:
2042 total cases
12 active cases (no change)
1614 Probable cases (Antigen detected test results, not included in total case count)
12 Active cases (minus 5)
24 confirmed, active cases in Milam County.
329 total hospitalized
6 currently hospitalized (minus 1)
Five individuals in serious condition and on ventilators.
75 fatalities (plus 1)
Testing:
Today we tested 15 individuals in Rockdale of which 4 were positive for a 26.7 percent positivity rate.
We will test again in Cameron on Thursday, Oct. 7, at the Cameron Fire Department.
