COVID UPDATE: County reports record cases Monday

Milam County reported a record 28 new COVID cases on Monday, Nov. 9.

"We report a record number of new cases for Milam County," Milam County Judge Steve Young said Monday night. "We have nine PCR and 19 new probable cases, for a record high of 28 new cases in a single day."

Young said the county tested 45 individuals in Rockdale on Monday and 17 of those were positive.

"We now have fifty-six active cases in Milam County," Young said. "In just one week our active case count has increased by 37. We must do better. We must distance and wear a mask. This is our only protection. Know that when you are out in public, the virus is there also.  Please protect yourself and others by keeping your distance and wearing a mask."

Testing will be held in Thorndale today from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
