Fuchs, Sims elected to Cameron City Council; Burks, Martinez returned to CISD board
Cameron voters sent incumbents back to city and school district positions along with a new face on the city council on Tuesday night.
After a delay in elections due to COVID-19 spots were filled on city council and the school board on Nov. 3.
Ward 2 voters elected Nathan Fuchs to replace longtime councilman Bobby Schiller. Fuchs defeated “Big” John Torres Sr. with 365 votes to 138 votes.
Incumbent Ward 4 councilmember Lekethia “KeKe” Sims will keep her place on Cameron City Council. Sims defeated William Pratt with 115 votes to 79 votes.
Cameron ISD voters returned Roy Martinez and James Burks to the school board. Martinez got 1,571 votes, Burkes received 1,313 votes and Annisha Williams received 1,029 votes.
In Milano voters selected Jay Willingham and Edward Westbrook to serve on the Milano ISD School Board. Westbrook received 540 votes, Willingham received 478 votes, and Steve Telg received 301 votes.
Thorndale voters selected Kimberly Biar and Chad Martinka to serve on the Thorndale ISD School Board. Biar received 925 votes, Martinka received 517 votes, Lance Weidler received 193 votes and Terrell Weise received 341 votes.
Precinct 4 voters re-elected Michael Moehling Jr. to serve as Precinct 4 Constable. Republican Moehling received 1,930 votes and Democrat Sam Pickett received 737 votes.
All other candidates in the county were unchallenged in the general election including: District Judge John Youngblood, County Attorney Bill Torrey, Sheriff Chris White, Tax Assessor Collector Sherry Mueck, Precinct 1 Commissioner Henry “Hub” Hubnik, Precint 3 Commissioner Arthur Neal, Precinct 1 Constable James Pratt, Precinct 2 Constable Charles “Charlie” West, and Precinct 3 Constable Jay Beathard.
