Giving A Helping Hand

Students with the Memorial Drive United Methodist Church Workcamp mission were in Cameron this week lending a helping hand to several locations throughout the city. One-hundred and seventy students and their chaperones from Houston did work at Mount Zion Baptist Church, Cameron Grove Baptist Church, Amazing Grace Thrift Shop in Buckholts, True Love Church and a few homes in Cameron. They also helped to clear a creek bed of city property. The students base camp was at Yoe High School. The group has come to Cameron in 2003, 2009, and 2014. They will be in town through the weekend, but plan to finish work by Thursday.
