Horelicas Honored

A group of buyers bought a special quilt for retiring Cameron Fire Chief Henry Horelica during the Cameron Volunteer Fire Department’s fundraiser on Saturday night. The quilt was bought in the auction the first time by Bryan and Tere Lightfoot then redonated and bought a second time by a group including Hecho En Texas, Circle S BBQ, Ideal Poultry, Milam County Livestock, Classic Bank, C&W Towing, Kevin Crouch, Melanie Romine - Edward Jones, Debbie and Jesse Reyes, and Bar JK Transport. The group gave the quilt to Henry and Penny Horelica as a gift. It was made by Regina Hairston and quilted by Carol Moyer for the event and donated by Barrell Bum Smokers. The fundraiser money giveaway and auction raised over $30,000 for the Cameron VFD. Horelica is set to retire as fire chief on in April.
