Keen honored with TDCAA award
On Nov. 2 in San Antonio Donelle Keen was honored with the Oscar A. Sherrell Memorial Award at the Texas District and County Attorneys Association’s (TDCAA) Key Personnel-Victim Assistance Coordinator Annual Conference. The event attracted over 300 Texas prosecutor-office personnel. The Oscar Sherrell Award is for service to the Texas District & County Attorneys Association (TDCAA) and is given to recognize those enthusiastic folks who excel in TDCAA work. This award may recognize a specific activity that has benefited or improved TDCAA or a body of work that has improved the service that TDCAA provides to the profession. Each year, the TDCAA Key Personnel-Victim Services Board select its annual award winner and present the award at this conference. Donelle Keen has worked as office manager and paralegal in the Milam County & District Attorney’s office for the Honorable William (Bill) W. Torrey, for over 8 years. She is a board-certified paralegal (TBLS-BCP) and was the 9th paralegal in Texas to receive certification in Criminal Law since 1998. In 2016, Donelle authored an article for TDCAA’s Texas Prosecutor journal to encourage other prosecutor-office legal assistants to become board certified.
