Man in custody following police chase Friday

A Rosebud man is in custody after a multi-city police chase Friday afternoon. 

Cameron Police Chief Lonnie Gosch said Sgt. Anastasiades and Lt. Maskunas conducted a traffic stop about 2 p.m. Friday on a Ford Focus for an obscured license plate. 

As officers approached the vehicle, the suspect sped away. Police gave pursuit of the vehicle west on US190 and as the suspect drove into Buckholts, he bailed out of the vehicle behind a house. 

Milam County deputies and a Department of Public Safety trooper assisted in controlling the scene and chasing the suspect. 

Authorities were able to capture the suspect, identified as Francisco Alzalde Saucedo. 

Upon a search of his vehicle, authorities located three handguns, four AR style pistols, cash, methamphetamine, and cocaine. 

Saucedo was booked on numerous charges to include seven charges of possession of a firearm by a felon, Evading in a vehicle, Evading on foot, and two counts of a possession of a controlled substance.
