Man sets himself on fire

A man sustained serious burns Wednesday night after setting himself on fire.
Cameron Police and Cameron Volunteer Fire Department responded about 10:15 p.m. Wednesday, March 29, after a person set himself on fire in the 400 block of West Tyson in Cameron.
Cameron Police Chief Lonnie Gosch said officers arrived to find the fire out. A witness had extinguished the flames. Fire crews set up a landing zone and the man was airlifted from the scene.
Gosch said investigators learned the man, identified as Israel Rangel, set himself on fire by pouring gas and oil on himself after becoming upset his girlfriend was leaving him.
