Milam Community Theater sets “Murder on the Orient Express”
One of the most famous detectives in literature will come to life when Milam Community Theater produces Agatha Christie’s masterpiece, “Murder on the Orient Express,” on stage Oct. 29 and 30.
“Hercule Poirot, Agatha Christie’s fussy, brilliant and famous detective, tries to solve his most difficult case ever,” said director Richard Stone. “Along the way, he faces the conundrum of if it’s possible to arrive at the correct conclusion yet still be wrong. This play, adapted for the stage by noted playwright Ken Ludwig, holds a mirror to the messy world with which we, and Poirot, must grapple.”
“Although the season is coming to an end, we’ve had an amazing year with Jeeves at Sea and The Wizard of Oz,’’ said Community Theater Director Jigar Bhakta. “I wanted one more house-hold name story, and of course I figured, ‘who better than the Queen of Crime Christie to finish off the season?’”
MCT performances of “Murder on the Orient Express” will be held at the Williams Event Center in Cameron. The curtains will open at 7 p.m. on Saturdays and 2 p.m. on Sundays with doors opening 30 minutes prior to showtime. Tickets are available online at milamcommunitytheater.com and at the door.
