Milam County 4-H wins big at Central Texas Consumer Contest
Twenty-one Milam County 4-H members competed at the Central Texas Consumer Decision Making Contest on Saturday, Jan. 27, in Gatesville.
We are extremely proud of our top senior team (Nationals team) and individual who placed first place overall. Our top senior individual was Macy McDaniel who won first place and a $500 scholarship.
Below are the results of these great accomplishments as well as all the youth who competed on Saturday.
Out of 21 participants, eight of the Milam County 4-H members were brand new to the consumer project and competing.
Consumer decision making is a project and contest where youth learn how to use consumer skills to rank products from the best to worst buy based on need versus want, criteria given, and scenario, and knowledge gained and learned about the products. Intermediates and seniors are given 1-2 classes they have to give a 2 minute set of reasons on why they placed the class.
