Milam County Chief Appraiser resigns from position
Milam Appraisal District Chief Appraiser, Dyann White, is set to leave effective Jan. 4.
She has accepted the Chief Appraiser position at Washington County Appraisal District located in Brenham.
She will be replacing Willy Dillworth as he is retiring at the end of the year after 20 years in the Washington County Appraisal Office.
White was the final selection from a pool of 11 candidates interviewed by a hiring committee made up of the nine taxing entities in Washington County.
White has 18 years of experience in the field with the Milam Appraisal District. She was originally hired as a personal property appraiser but quickly became an Administrative Assistant of Records and Appraisal.
White became the Deputy Chief Appraiser in 2008 and was appointed as the Chief Appraiser in 2014 where she has served the capacity of her duty very well resulting in the District being highly successful.
“This move is definitely bitter-sweet,” White said. “I am honored and excited to have been selected by Washington County, but the staff at Milam Appraisal District are more than my friends – they have become family. I will miss them dearly. I have also enjoyed working with the local taxing entities, the elected officials, and the property owners. I will always be available to help the next Chief Appraiser in any way that I can. It is critical to me that Milam Appraisal District continues to be successful.”
White is a Rockdale resident.
The Milam Appraisal District Board of Directors has initiated a search for the next Chief Appraiser. Sealed applications and resumes will be taken until Jan. 25, 2021.
A full ad for employment and the application are available on the District’s website at www.milamad.org.
