Milam County Junior Livestock Show this week
The Milam County Junior Livestock Show kicked off last weekend with the Baked Goods Division on Saturday.
Paisley Kempa of the Cameron 4-H Club took Grand Champion honors with her cookies and Natalyn Freeman of Cameron FFA took Reserve Champion with her pie. Both girls will participate in the Premium Sale on Saturday night.
The Milam County Junior Livestock Show gets underway this week at the Youth Expo Building at 301 S. Houston in Cameron. The animal and ag mechanics show begins on Wednesday, March 20, and concludes at 6 p.m. on Saturday, March 23, with a premium Youth Auction Sale. A buyer’s dinner will proceed the auction starting at 4:30 p.m.
Milam County youth participating in 4-H and FFA will be exhibiting their animal projects including rabbits, commercial heifers, broilers, turkeys, swine, goats, lamb, breeding heifers and steers in addition to Ag Mechanics during this week’s show.
New to the Youth Auction Sale this year, the winning entries from Ag Mechanics and Baked Goods projects will be included along with the winning animal projects.
