Monday crash claims life of man

A Little River-Academy man is dead after an early morning crash on Monday.

Texas Department of Public Safety Sergeant Bryan Washko said 22-year-old Fabian Andres Rodriguez died in a single-vehicle crash Monday, April 3.

Troopers, Milam County deputies, Buckholts Volunteer Fire Department, and EMS responded about 4 a.m. Monday to a one-vehicle wreck on FM 486 near CR 205B, about two miles southeast of Buckholts.

Investigators learned Rodriguez was northbound in a 2004 Chevy pickup when he approached a curve, failed to stay in a single lane, left the roadway, entered the bar ditch, and rolled the truck onto its left side.

The driver was ejected. Washko added that he was not wearing a seatbelt.

Rodriguez was pronounced dead at the scene. The crash investigation is still active and open.

This is the seventh death and fifth fatal crash on Milam County roads this year.
