National Night Out planned for Oct. 1

Neighborhoods throughout Cameron and surrounding areas are invited to join over 38 million neighbors across 16,000 communities from all 50 states, U.S. territories and military bases worldwide for National Night Out on Oct. 1 from 6-8 p.m.

Neighbors throughout Cameron are asked to lock their doors, turn on their front porch lights and spend the evening outside with neighbors and law enforcement.

The Cameron Police Department will host a community event for National Night Out at the station to promote police- community partnerships and make our neighborhoods safer, more caring places to live.

The event will feature games and giveaways and food for all. Several organizations will be on hand for the event including Cameron Municipal Court, Cameron Volunteer Fire Department, Milam County Health Department, Standards, Winnie L. Nursing Home, AMR, Milam County Crime Stoppers, Cameron PD, Milam County Sheriff’s Office, Texas Parks and Wildlife and DPS.
