Three behind bars after drug seizure

Three people are behind bars after a joint operation led to the seizure of a large number of illegal narcotics and weapons in Milam County.

Phillip Pounder, 44, of Rockdale, and Chrystal Rivison, 43, of Thrall, were arrested with six counts of manufacture or delivery of a controlled substance between 4 and 200 grams; manufacture or delivery of a controlled substance between 1 and 28 grams; manufacture or delivery of a controlled substance between 4 and 200 grams; and possession of marijuana between 4 ounces and 5 pounds.

Pounder had an additional charge of unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon.

Raul Avila, 41, of Rockdale, was arrested on a charge of displaying a fictitious license plate.

According to Milam County Sheriff Mike Clore, early morning Monday, his department, along with the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office and the criminal investigation department of the Texas Department of Public Safety, executed a search warrant at an address on Russell Drive south of Rockdale.

During the raid, more than 1,100 grams of methamphetamine, 270 grams of marijuana, 200 pills of other controlled substances, 38 grams of cocaine, 19 grams of crack cocaine and 10 grams of heroin were recovered.

Clore said that additionally, approximately 16 weapons were seized, along with a military explosive device container.

All three suspects remained at the Milam County Jail Tuesday with no bond amounts set.
