Tickets for Mardi Gras Bash on sale
Tickets are on sale for the ninth annual Mardi Gras bash held on Feb. 19 to raise funds for the Christine Holcombe Memorial Scholarship Fund.
The “Mardi Gras” bash will be held Saturday, Feb. 19, at Simon George Hall, 401 S. Karnes, in Cameron. The event will start at 6 p.m. and will include a Cajun food dinner, live auction, a 50/50, door prizes and activities for the kids. Adult tickets are $10 and children under 18 are $5.Tickets can be bought purchased at the Milam County Extension Office in Cameron, the Cameron Chamber of Commerce or Thorndale Meat Market in Thorndale.
Over the past nine years $111,000 in scholarships have been awarded to Milam County students who are currently in college.

The Mardi Gras bash was established to raise money for college scholarships to honor long time Milam County Extension Agent Christine Holcombe. Christine was a long-time 4-H agent and was advocate of students getting a higher education. She also helped many students apply and win scholarships for their college education. In addition to the 4-H program she also presented educational programs at Milam County schools during her tenure as a County Agent.
