Lady Eagles top Mumford 40-33

The Milano Lady Eagles (12-13, 6-3) came from behind on Friday to defeat Mumford 40-33 at Geneva Paceley Gym. Milano led 10-6 after the first quarter, but trailed 20-11 at halftime. The Lady Eagles put up 20 points in the third quarter and held Mumford to just one to go up 31-21 heading into the final period. The Lady Mustangs outscored Milano 12-9 in the fourth quarter, but it was not enough to take the win from the Lady Eagles. Sterling Robertson led all players with 11 points scored on the night. Hannah Batten added nine, with Faith Walton and Sage LoBue recorded three points each. Kristian Taylor, Bethanie Compton and McKenna Robertson scored three points apiece and Abby Miller put up one. The Lady Eagles had an open date on Tuesday. A win in one of their final two district games should put them in the postseason. Milano will close out the regular season this week with a key road game at Hearne on Friday and will host lead leading and No. 13 Thorndale on Tuesday.
