Samuel A. Deaver
Samuel A. Deaver, of Rogers, Texas, was born to eternal life on June 26, 2019, surrounded by his loving family.
Sam was born on Nov. 18, 1946, in Rogers. He served his country proudly in the United States Army, being stationed in Korea from 1966 to 1969. On July 16, 1966, Sam married Donna Kay Bales at the County Line Baptist Church in Rogers. For most of his working life, Sam was self-employed. What he cherished most was his family, being surrounded by his kids, grandkids, and great-grandkids. Sam and his wife, Donna, had a loving and inviting home and everyone knew how much they were loved and cared for in their presence. He also enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, hunting and camping.
Sam was preceded in death by his parents, Lee and Lela Deaver; brothers, Ernest Lee, Bonnie Elton, Newton Roy and E.D. Deaver.
He is survived by: his wife of almost 53 years, Donna Deaver; children, Samuel Dusty Darnell Deaver, Teresa Kay Baddock and husband Ken, and Kimberly Dawn Day; eight grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren; and many loving family members and friends. He is also survived by one sister, Wanda Faye Cheek.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 29, at the Friendship Cemetery near Davilla and visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Friday at Marek-Burns-Laywell Funeral Home in Cameron.
