Frankie Joe Ehler

Frankie Joe Ehler, 92, of Cameron, died Saturday, Aug. 31, 2019, in a Temple veterans nursing facility. 

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 4, 2019, at St. Monica’s Catholic Church. Entombment will be in the St. Monica’s Mausoleum. Visitation will be Tuesday, Sept. 3, 2019, from 6-8 p.m. at Marek-Burns-Laywell Funeral Home with a Rosary recited at 7 p.m.

Mr. Ehler, retired farmer and rancher, was born on April 22, 1927, in Floresville, Texas, to Richard and Sophie (Klasek) Ehler. He went to work for McLane Wholesale and then worked for E.R. Carpenter until retirement. He was a U. S. Army Veteran of the Korean War. He was a member of St. Monica’s Catholic Church, V. F. W., American Legion, a former board member of the Milam County Junior Livestock Show and Salem Elm Ridge Water Corp. Mr. Ehler was an avid Dallas Cowboy fan who loved fishing and playing dominoes.  

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ann Ehler in 1988. 

He is survived by: sons, David Ehler of Rockdale and Charles Ehler of Rockdale; daughter, Rosemary Liska of Three Rivers; sister, Marjorie Mueck of Waco; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
