George Cuba

George Cuba, age 78, passed away at his residence in Thorndale on Saturday, Nov. 16, 2019.

He lived in Thorndale for most of his life. Mr. Cuba was born on Nov. 9, 1941, in Anton to O.R. "Tom" Cuba and Pauline J. (Kovar) Cuba.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 19, 2019, at the Phillips and Luckey Funeral Home. Visitation will be Monday, Nov. 18, 2019, from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Detmold Cemetery.

Mr. Cuba married Betty Heine on Feb. 18, 1960, In Laredo, and was a carpenter and millwright. He was preceded in death by his parents Tom and Pauline Cuba, a brother, Tommy E, Cuba, brothers-in-law, Cline Freiling and David Eubanks, and sister-in-law, Terry Cuba.

Mr. Cuba is survived by his wife, Betty Cuba of Thorndale; his son, Russell Cuba of Thorndale; daughters, Lara Machele Harrison and husband Steve of Round Rock and Lannette Arlene Brumbelow of Thorndale; his brother, Eugene Cuba of Pasadena; and sisters, Marie Freiling of Rockdale, Betty M. Havens and husband Ken of Alvin, Sue Eubanks of the Salty Community and Linda K. Worley and husband Kit of San Gabriel. Also surviving are his grandchildren, Cody, Courtney, Rebecca, Aaron, Brooke, Shelby and Haley, along with 12 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Ronal Cuba, Greg Guthrie, Chris Guthrie, Dave Eubanks, Scotty Neiman, Jason Worley and Lanny Worley.
