Looking for a job? We can help with that
Recently we met with Bitmain, Whinstone, Texas Workforce Solutions, the school superintendents and others to discuss filling the many new jobs that are coming to the area. Both Bitmain and Whinstone are in the process of hiring for various positions and both have agreed to hire locally! Short term, both employers need various construction jobs filled and long term, both need employees for various information technology jobs.
Whinstone is hiring to help construct “racks” for housing the “ant miners” and landscapers to landscape the area around the new complex. Both Bitmain and Whinstone will soon hire for various networking and ant miner maintenance positions. In fact, both have agreed to interview high school students at each of the five high schools in the very near future for these positions.
One of the certifications that both employers will want in the near future is an “A plus certification in Information Technology.” Texas Workforce Solutions has agreed to pay for this training! Beginning in January, a high school student or an adult can take evening and weekend classes in Rockdale at the “One Stop” to obtain the A Plus certification. Thank you Ms. Linda Angel and Ms. Julia Cordona for making this possible. Thus, if you have any interest in a new job call Texas Workforce Solutions at (512) 446-6440 and get the details of these exciting new opportunities.
For the long-term we are discussing ways to consolidate some of our CTE training to help educate a workforce for the new technology jobs that are coming. Each school in the county currently has a Career and Technology Education department that helps train students for a particular career. Hopefully, we can develop a countywide program at a central location to train our youth for these new jobs.
Working together, we are Moving Milam Forward as we provide a better future for jobs in Milam County.
