Mary Lou Porubsky
Mary Lou Porubsky, 84, went to her heavenly home on Thursday, March 12, 2020, at Baylor Scott & White Hospital in Temple.
Services for Mrs. Porubsky will be held Monday, March 16, at 10 a.m. in the Kathryn W. Green Chapel of Green-Patterson Funeral Home in Cameron, with Rev. Fred Hill officiating. Burial will follow in the Burlington Cemetery. Visitation for the family was held Sunday, March 15, from 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mary Lou was born Oct. 16, 1935, in Cameron. She was a member of Abiding Savior Lutheran church.
Preceding her in death are her spouse; her parents, Rudolph and Bertie Friemel; brother, Roy Friemel; and sisters, Ruth Henson and Doris Ehler Wieser.
She is survived by her sons, Will Porubsky and wife Amy of Fort Worth, and Joe Porubsky of Cameron. She is also survived by nieces, Linda Layne of Cameron and Jane Knott of Rockdale. Also surviving are seven great-nephews and four great-nieces, as well as a host of friends.
Mary Lou was a homemaker. She also worked in sales for many years for Avon, J.C. Penney, and McIntosh Department Store. She was active in church, helped with summer ball programs and supported all school programs. She enjoyed camping, fishing, gardening, canning, watching the Cameron Yoemen, keeping up with the news, and being with her family.
The family suggests memorials be made to Abiding Savior Lutheran Church, Cameron, Texas, or Burlington Cemetery.
