Milam Community Theater announces changes

The Milam Community Theater has announced some changes to its performance schedule due to the COVID-19 outbreak.

In a release the MCT said:

“In the midst of the COVID-19 outbreak, decisions have been made by the board of directors to adjust season schedules on an on-going basis for the unforeseeable future.

In accordance with the guidelines issued by the CDC, Governor Greg Abbott, and the Milam County Health Department that there be no gatherings of more than ten people until further notice, the Milam Community Theater Board has decided to delay the opening of “Aladdin, Jr.” until a date to be determined.

In addition, auditions for “Steel Magnolias,” originally scheduled March 23 and 24, are cancelled.

New show and audition dates will be released once decided. The tentative plan for the immediate future is to push performances to later dates. It is our hope to provide a full season of entertainment to the best of our abilities given the unforeseen situation.

That being stated, Steel Magnolias is expected to be pushed to June,

“Nunsense - The Musical” will be in late August, and “The Odd Couple” will hopefully run on the original dates in November.

As new information and guidance is coming in rapidly, please kindly understand that we may need to readjust as needed.

We will make sure to keep you up to date on all decisions as they are made. The Board of Directors truly appreciates your understanding and flexibility during this time of uncertainty.”
