24th case of COVID-19 diagnosed

The 24th case of COVID-19 in Milam County was announced late yesterday.

Milam County Judge Steve Young said this person is a Milam County resident who lives in the western part of the county.

"This is believed to be a community spread infection," he said. "The person is not hospitalized, but is self-quarantined in their home.  The county health department has begun its contact investigations."

This brings the total to 24 confirmed cases in the county, one death, six active cases and the health department is monitoring about seven persons. There are currently no hospitalizations.
