David Eugene McDonald

David Eugene McDonald, 83, of Cameron and formerly of Killeen, died Friday, May 1, 2020, at his home.

Memorial services are set for on Tuesday, May 19, 2020, at Marek-Burns-Laywell Funeral Home in Cameron. Entombment was at the Killeen Memorial Park Mausoleum at a later time.

Mr. McDonald was born Dec. 14, 1937, in Clinton, Iowa, to Joseph L. and  Catherine A. (Laurent) McDonald. He married Colette Fasseur in 1958 in Normandie, France. He retired from the U.S. Army after more than 20 years of service with tours in Germany, France and Vietnam. He then went to work and retired from WilsonArt in Temple. 

He is survived by: his wife of 61 years, Colette McDonald; children, Mary Bellaire, Cathy Merritt and Patrick McDonald and wife Martha; brother, Larry McDonald and wife Connie; eight grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Marek-Burns-Laywell Funeral Home of Cameron is in charge of arrangements.
