COVID count moves to 38 in Milam County

Milam County's COVID-19 count grew by two today.

County Judge Steve Young has announced the 37th and 38th cases of the virus today.

The 37th case was announced this morning. The person is a Milam County resident, tested out of County with confirmation of a positive test today.  The person is at home and self-quarantined and is expected to recover.

Young said the 38th case is from the central part of the county and that it is undoubtably community spread. The person is self-quarantined at home.

This brings our total to 38 confirmed cases, and nine active cases with the Health Department monitoring 24 individuals.

"We’d like to encourage the wearing of a cloth mask in public, washing your hands frequently, knowing the signs and symptoms of COVID-19, self-isolating if you believe you have the signs and symptoms, and consulting your primary care provider if you have symptoms to determine your need for a COVID-19 test is still the safest way," the Milam County Health Department posted on Facebook earlier today. "With the reopening of businesses, it is important to keep the above items in mind when you decide you need to be out and about. Please remain safe and have a good day."
