COVID UPDATE: 17 new cases of COVID announced
Confirmed cases of COVID-19 are still on the rise in Milam County, but active cases are going down.
As of today, July 21, there are 257 confirmed cases, up 17 cases. Active cases are at 50, down one. There are 117 individuals being monitored in the county.
Four individuals are currently hospitalized. There have been 24 people hospitalized since the pandemic began.
"Today was another record for the county, with an increase of 17 confirmed cases," Milam County Judge Steve Young said. "The active cases went down, instead of up, because of the length of time it is taking to get test results. By the time some of the results are received, the quarantine period is over."
There are currently 332,434 confirmed cases across the state, up 7,404. There have been 4,020 deaths in Texas.
