Night of Refuge planned for Aug. 9 in downtown Cameron
In John 17:20-21 Jesus prayed, “I do not ask for these only, but also for those who will believe in me through their word, that they may all be one, just as you, Father, are in me, and I in you, that they also may be in us, so that the world may believe that you have sent me.” (ESV)
On July 5 we held our first Night of Refuge on the Square in downtown Cameron. Eight different churches were represented as we worshipped God through song and the Word. It was a wonderful and beautiful time as we came together in our shared faith to seek after God.
Our aim and mission is to be one. Being one can only be accomplished through the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. In that aim, we call all those who believe in the God of the Bible, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, the God who brought Israel out of Egypt, who slayed giants and conquered kings, the King of kings, the Lord of lords, who sent His only Son, Jesus of Nazareth, to this earth to die for our sins, who through His blood we have forgiveness of sins, by His grace through faith, who also rose from the dead on the third day, and He is now seated at the right hand of God the Father, who together sent His Spirit, the Spirit of Truth, to dwell with us. We call on you to join with us in worshipping God together. To come together in our shared faith through the Holy Spirit.
If the word of God is true, which we believe it is, this is how Cameron will know of Jesus, this is how our world will know. If your heart is stirred as ours, then we invite you to join us in these Nights of Refuge. Refuge from this world, refuge in God alone, so our community can also find refuge.
The dates are as follows; Aug. 9, Sept. 13, Oct. 11, Nov. 8, and Dec. 13. All events will be held at the Cameron Square at 6 p.m. Bring a lawn chair, find some shade, and come ready to worship God.
