COVID UDPATE: County records another death

Milam County has recorded another death from COVID-19.

Milam County Judge Steve Young shared the news late Monday that a 46th resident died from the virus. That marks the first death this week and second in the past two weeks.

Young also said there were three new cases of the virus here, though the active case count has gone down to 21.

The combined total of PCR and antigen positive tests in the county since the pandemic began is now 2,469. Two people are hospitalized, including one on a ventilator.

Young urges everyone to be mindful of those around them by wearing a mask and social distancing and getting your vaccine.

You can call the county at (254) 697-7000 to get on the list for a vaccination.
