Yoemen fall to Buna in game one, looking for comeback Saturday
The Cameron Yoemen fought back after falling down by five runs in the fourth inning on Wednesday night against Buna in game one of the regional semifinals but just couldn’t get there.
The comeback fell just short in a 4-2 defeat by Buna.
The Yoemen couldn’t keep up with Buna early in the game. Buna scored on a groundout by Knox in the first inning and a single by Leon in the second inning.
Buna got things moving in the first inning, when Knox grounded out, scoring two runs.
Leon was credited with the victory for Buna. The hurler surrendered zero runs on three hits over six and a third innings, striking out 12. Peveto threw two-thirds of an inning in relief out of the bullpen.
Brannon McCall took the loss for Cameron. McCall lasted four innings, allowing three hits and five runs while striking out three.
Tracer Lopez went 2-for-4 at the plate to lead Cameron in hits.
