Railroad Museum sets dates for Junior Engineers
The Milam County Railroad Museum will be setting aside four Saturday mornings for exclusive time for Junior Engineers.
Beginning the second Saturday in July, the Museum will be open from 10 a.m. to noon for Junior Engineers ages 9 to 17 to enjoy sessions in model railroad building.
In addition, time will be set aside for our youngsters to operate some of the trains on the Old Town Cameron model. Cost is $25. You must commit to all four classes. The fee is non-refundable or pro-rated. Space is limited to twelve students.
Please contact Jamie Larson at (512) 455-9591 or email, jamlar50@yahoo.com to reserve a space. Dates are July 10, 17, 24 and 31.
Two years ago, he museum was able to have an eight-day Junior Engineer Camp, but because of the COVID uncertainty of when they would be able to open this year, they are using this format. Next year, they hope to have the full camp again.
Kids will get an idea of how to begin to set up their own train layout at home and learn about the impressive 18x42-foot Old Town Cameron model built by Cameron residents John and Frances Johnson.
Please arrive no later than 9:45 a.m. as we will be pulling out of the station right on time! All aboard!
