Richard Weldon “Dick” Spier

Richard Weldon “Dick” Spier, 75, of Cameron died Thursday, June 17, 2021, in a Temple hospital. 

Graveside funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday, June 21, at Mount Olive Memorial Park in Big Spring. Visitation was held Saturday beginning at 6 p.m.

Mr. Spier, a retired teacher and coach, was born Aug. 24, 1945, in Big Spring to Billy Russell and Bobbie Viola (Baum) Spier.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and also by his wife Linda; and by a brother, Billy Bob Spier. 

He is survived by: sons, Troy Allen Spier and wife Pam of Madison, Ala., and Christopher Scott Spier and wife Amy of Springville, N.Y.; sisters, Peggy Bethell and husband Jerry of Cameron, and Patti Purser and husband Bob of Greenwood; sister-in-law, Lori Spier; three grandchildren, Sidney, Alexi and Kyle Spier; and nieces and nephews, Michelle, Craig, Rusty, Kristie, Katie and Karla Jane.

Marek-Burns-Laywell Funeral Home of Cameron is in charge of arrangements.
