Jose Vera Sierra

Jose Vera Sierra, 71, of Cameron, died Thursday, June 17, 2021, at his home.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 22, at St. Monica’s Catholic Church. Burial will follow in the St. Monica’s Cemetery. Rosary will be recited Monday at 6 p.m. at Marek-Burns-Laywell Funeral Home.

Mr. Sierra, a retired landscaper, was born Aug. 30, 1939, in Mexico to Alfonso Vera and Soledad Sierra. He married Sara Olvera.

He is survived by: wife, Sara Vera of Cameron; sons, Pedro Vera and Oscar Vera of Regan, Jose Vera of Nebraska, Raul Vera and Jaime Vera of Mexico, and David Vera of Minnesota; daughters, Susana Vera of Rosebud, Maria Vera of Minnesota, Elizabeth Vera of Temple, and Ana Vera of Cameron; brothers, Isidro Vera, Nieves Vera, Alfonso Vera, and Raul, all of Mexico; sisters, Maria Vera and Luz Vera, both of Mexico; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Marek-Burns-Laywell Funeral Home of Cameron is in charge of arrangements.
