Church collecting donations to restore roof

Jerusalem Baptist Church at 800 North Orchard in Cameron is collecting donations toward the rebuilding of the church’s roof. On Sunday, July 25, the roof fell in from the pulpit to the front door so the congregation is without a place to worship. The ultimate goal is to bring restoration to the church. The congregation wants to be able to have a place to worship, fellowship, and grow with one another through God’s word. You can deposit directly in the church account at Citizen’s National bank in Cameron or through Go Fund Me at Help Restore Jerusalem Baptist Church. The church will host a demolition day on Saturday, Aug. 14, at 8 a.m. Anyone who wants to help is welcome. JBC was organized on Jan. 1, 1945, by Rev. H.K. Hansberry. It was the first brick church in the Black church. This church has served as a beacon and a light to many in the community.
