Russell Lee Cuba

Russell Lee Cuba, age 60, a lifelong resident of Thorndale, passed away Tuesday morning, Aug. 24, 2021 in the Baylor Scott & White Hospital in Temple.
Services were held Saturday, Aug.28, 2021 at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Rockdale with burial following in the Detmold Cemetery near Thorndale.
Russell was born Nov. 27, 1960, in Taylor, to George Arlen and Betty Lee (Heine) Cuba. He attended school in Thorndale. Russell worked for Veolia Industry as an industrial vacuum truck driver. He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren and was always ready to help others.
He is preceded in death by his father, George Cuba, on Nov. 16, 2019.
Surviving are his children, Cody Cuba and Lee Ann of Rockdale, Courtney Cuba of Temple, Rebecca Leho of Holland, Blake Cuba and wife Shanna of Round Rock, and Shelby Cuba of Holland; his mother, Betty Cuba of Thorndale; two sisters, Lara Harrison and husband Steve of Round Rock and Lannette Brumbelow of Thorndale; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Wynn Scruggs, Chase Cuba, Dallas McQuary, J.B. Briones, Jeffery Kreidel, Ricky Heine.
