COVID UPDATE: Cases still above 300 in county
Milam County reported 125 new cases and 60 cases discharged on Thursday, leaving 314 confirmed, active cases in Milam County.
This is just six cases under the record 320 cases we set earlier this month. Two individuals were hospitalized and two were discharged, with no new deaths.
Milam County Judge Steve Young said on Thursday night that testing was very heavy with 166 totals tests performed and 80 positives or a 48.1 percent positivity rate.
“Our next testing will be Tuesday, Jan. 18, at the former Rockdale Hospital beginning at 9 a.m.” he said. “ We thank Angelica and all those who worked so hard today to perform the testing. We are in the process of getting more medications for our infusion clinic. We are expecting to have Sotrovimab which is effective against Omicron. Call (512) 853-0208 for information.”
