Linda Osman

Linda Jane Osman “Jane” passed away at her home in Palmetto Bay on Friday, Feb. 10, 2022. 

She was born in Cameron on Jan. 17, 1943, to parents Otto and Dorothy Matzig. 

She is survived by her loving husband, Dr. Mark Osman; brother, Charles Don Matzig of Boiling Springs, S.C.; sons, Carlton Cunningham of Temple, Terry Cunningham of Cameron, Dr. Brian Osman of Coral Gables, Fla.; daughters-in-law, Susan Cunningham of Cameron and Dr. Joyce Gomes Osman of Coral Gables, Fla.; grandchildren, Bobby Cunningham, Christopher Cunningham, Linda Cunningham, Robin Cunningham, Ricky Frye, Danilo Gomes Osman; and 13 great-grandchildren. 

She attended Aldine High School in Houston and graduated from the University of Mary Harden Baylor in Belton and the Scott and White Nursing Program in Temple with a B.S. in Nursing. 

She joined the U.S. Army Reserve Nurse Corps in 1973 while also working at the Milam County Health Department as the Health Nurse (1970-1975) then saw active duty in Berlin, Germany and Ft. Sam Houston, Texas. She was reactivated for Operation Desert Storm in 1991. She retired from the Army at the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. 

Jane loved her extended family, garage sales, gardening, visit to casinos and the Texas and Florida lotteries. 

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 12, 2022, at 11 a.m. at Cameron Church of Christ, 100 East 3rd Street, Cameron, with Pastor Gene Van Noord presiding.
