Yoe baseball gets victory over Lake Belton
The Cameron Yoemen baseball team went on the road on Tuesday to take on the Lake Belton Broncos. Cameron finished strong for an easy victory over Lake Belton 11-5.
It was their first game in almost a week since Cameron was unable to play in the China Spring Tournament due to bad weather conditions.
The Broncos struck first and got on the scoreboard in the first inning to take an early 2-0 lead. The Yoemen began to chip away with a run in the second and third inning to tie the game at 2. Cameron pulled away for good in the fourth inning with five runs. A Lake Belton error scored two of the five runs for the Yoemen. Cameron brought the dagger in the fifth inning, scoring an additional 4 runs to make it an 11-3 lead for the Yoemen, and went on to win 11-5.
Cameron collected 12 hits overall. Bobby Borgas, Tracer Lopez, and Dillan Akin each had multiple hits for the Yoemen. Lopez and Borgas all had three hits to lead the team. Adam Cardona was the winning pitcher for Cameron. The senior lefty allowed two runs on two hits over three innings, striking out two. A number of pitchers entered the game as relief, with Brannon Mccall, Bobby Borgas, Tracer Lopez, and Landon Greene all securing outs and ultimately the victory.
The Yoemen will host an in-season tournament this weekend at The Yards of Cameron.
